WHITE

AND

GRAY

Too many walls and a peninsula made this kitchen feel smaller than it really was. None of the walls were load bearing, so they were easily taken down and another opened up to create a bar area.

Deep dark colors also made the existing space feel claustrophobic. A  lighter scheme was chosen for the new kitchen, with white upper cabinets and gray bases. Wood flooring, a walnut countertop near the range, and soft gold hardware bring warmth.

In the breakfast area, built-in seating provides extra storage, a new cabinet provides a great drop-off area to collect clutter, and a built-in contains the microwave and pantry. The family loves the new connection with the living and dining areas and increased functionality for meal prep.
